This is a great book in a series

This is a great book in a series. i have to admit, I rarely buy books, however, this is an author I want to support. His books drew me in. They are clean, faith promoting (subtle, not overbearing) and educational. This particular book in the series really helped me think about how blacks were treated. It gave me a new appreciation for their fortitude without leaving me with a "white privilege" feeling. Every adult can enjoy this book as well as the others in the series. There are some historical-type events that may disturb young children.

I would recommend these books to anyone who would love to see how these two girls deal with all the adventures that they in counter and how they turn to God to keep them focused and able to face every challenge that occurs.

Such a wonderful story and can't help but think that perhaps there was a drastic change in the lives of the southern families after the civil war ended. Some of these stories could even be stranger than this one.
