I might just go to Alaska.....

I started Love Finds You In Glacier Bay Alaska during a snowstorm and I really didn't want to read about snow while freezing in the snow. I was literally expecting to get chilled just thinking about the sub-zero temperatures and icebergs. Boy was I ever wrong! The authors paint such a beautiful description of Alaska that even I, the one who loathes snow, feel the need to travel to Glacier Bay. As a reader, we are taken on a journey of one woman's quest to find self-acceptance, the dark cloud that hovers over her head. Ginny is a woman who has it all, she is a recording artist and has made quite the name for herself but being the famous Ginny Marshall comes with demands she can't seem to fill. Mainly because her heart lies somewhere else and with a past she cannot forget....a heart that leads her to Glacier Bay, Alaska....
Along with Ginny's adventure, Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss also weave in a story told through letters from long ago which are filled with characters who will steal your heart in a matter of seconds. The letters are a major part of the plot and without them the book would lose part of its charm. In fact, I would really enjoy a book based on the characters from the letters! When you read this book please take my advice and have a box of tissues ready along with ample time to devour each page. As you travel through Glacier Bay your attention to everyday mundane chores such as cleaning may be limited due to the fact that one simply cannot put this book down. I say travel because you really will be transported to Alaska through the pages of this truly heartwarming story minus the long underwear or as they say in my neck of the woods long johns. Loved The Setting!!

I'm pretty sure Love Finds You in Glacier Bay, Alaska is only the second Love Finds You book I've read, but I hope to read many more in the future. I enjoyed this book a lot more than I had thought I would and loved the ending!
The characters were really nice and I especially like Brett, Brett's Grandmother, and Ginny. I loved the setting and how small the town of Glacier Bay was.
I also loved the "letters" that were in Love Finds You in Glacier Bay, Alaska - they were one of my favorite parts of the story. I found it interesting to read Ellie's story firsthand. =)
Overall, Love Finds You in Glacier Bay, Alaska was a great read and I recommend it if you enjoy good, sweet romance stories.

Live To Read

At first, I wasn’t sure how to react to Ginny and Brett. How could she just drive away from him? How could he still be in love with her after all that time that passed? Ginny seemed nice, but she also seemed too Hollywood. How could she expect Brett to welcome her and help her make life choices when she had run away from him? Then later in the story, I realized that I hadn’t been fair to her. If she had enough real talent to pursue a singing career, why hadn’t Brett been fair-minded enough to stay with her and support her as she took a chance? Why did he only want a life with her if they kept to their original plans? His Glacier Bay neighbors thought he was so terrific, but I wasn’t so sure.
Later in the story, both Ginny and Brett put aside their own wants to make their love a priority. Their love story is mirrored by the love story in the old letters that Brett’s Grandma Ethel pushes Ginny to read. I often seem to like stories set in the past better than contemporary ones; this book is no exception. Luckily, there are two stories in this one book. Clay’s reflective journal entries about his first wife show the grief and love he feels for his wife. Ellie Bell and Clay’s early 1900s romance in the Alaskan wilderness is so sweet and funny; reading about her attempts at cooking, shooting…and the outhouse falling in the river – it’s great!
This is also a story with amazing secondary characters: Ginny’s grandfather, Brett’s grandmother, the gossipy Dove, Janey…and who wouldn’t love the interjections by Nurse Schroeder? I haven’t been to Alaska; but after reading this book, I hope that I can visit there one day. A friend who went there was not too impressed by it, but the authors’ descriptions make the wild scenery sound like God’s country.
