Against all Odds, is the perfect sentence to extract the life of this incredible scientist and humble man

Dr. Mönkerberg is a pediatrician from Chile. He founded an institution to treat undernourished children back in the sixties. He did a lot of research, and helped to understand this condition and how could be eliminated. In that years Chile had very bad statistics specially in children undernutrition. He defended the health system he created against all kind of government regimes from military to social parties, and in thirty years, they changed the numbers as the developed countries had. He saved a lot of lives and knew that the next challenge will be the education system, he wrote a prophetical letter to the dean of Chilean university, telling him to be prepared for the change they will have to implement when the new generation of well nourished children get to the classrooms. The university didn't listen and some years ago those children where on the streets asking for less expensive education opportunities, having the government to change their policies in this matter.
I am not from Chile, but this a book with a candid and personal view, that all Latin American politician should read. I had the honor to listen to him, and he is a wise and a humble human being.
