Then I started Pinpoint Praying. Along with using the Bible as my prayer guide, I started asking very specific and focused things of God. Instead of asking God to be with my wife, I asked him to make her holy, to protect her from the pull of materialism, to heal her of some specific wounds, to expand her ministry impact, to put truth in her heart and wisdom on her tongue. Instead of asking God to bless my marriage, I prayed that he would help us to love each other unconditionally, to model his love to the world, to willingly serve and yield to each other, and to know true intimacy. Do you see the difference? I sure did. As my prayers became more specific to God, so did my answers from him. The very pinpoint prayers I began praying turned into pinpoint answers for my marriage. A well-written guide to praying for your spouse

This is the second book of Davis's I have read, following "Pray Big" several years ago. What I remember from that text was being impressed with the author's storytelling ability. That is present in this book as well. Davis is transparent and isn't afraid to appear as less than a holy man to make a point about prayer. He explains relevant Scripture passages very well, also.
I have improved greatly as a pray-er over the years but it's still the weakest part of my relationship with God. Taking the insights in this book to heart, I expect to improve in that regard. My wife means the world to me and there's little I can do to honor her more important than praying for her. I expect that the suggestions in Pray Big for Your Marriage will help me honor her more.
