About the Author
Angela received a bachelor s degree in English (American and British Literature), a graduate certificate in Comparative Literature/Interdisciplinary Studies, and a master s degree in Liberal Arts from a nationally recognized, research one university. She was also awarded a 6.0 the highest possible score and a 96th percentile ranking (nationwide) on the analytical writing section of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Previously, Angela served as a Guest Lecturer for the analytical writing section of the GRE at the University of South Florida s Continuing Education Division. She is currently a part-time instructor at a community college in Florida. Angela is also a writer and editor. She started in 2005 with only a dream, a vision, and a firm commitment. Since then, Angela has had articles published in local, regional, and national publications. She has also authored articles for various online media sources and has served as the managing editor for a regional health and wellness publication since 2005."

Great Advice Book on GRE Test Taking

101 Ways to Score Higher on Your GRE is a really good prep novel for a standardized test. It is much more all encompassing than most other such materials on the market. Although Edward-Mangione puts a huge emphasis on helping you learn the material to do well on the test, including practice questions and a vocabulary bank, a good chunk of the book focuses more on familiarizing you with the test format. There is also a huge emphasis on how you should study not just what you should study. It is a method that seems to be employed to make someone as comfortable as possible with the GRE. This familiarity and calm that will come during testing from knowing what to expect and preparing correctly will help your score in theory. All around the book does everything well and provides sections that I have not commonly seen included in other GRE prep books.

Great for Passing GRE

101 Ways to Score Higher on your GRE is quite a guide for anyone wanting to take their Graduate Record Exam. It goes through the Why's of taking the GRE and the general structure. The great thing about this guide is it goes through the different sections of the GRE; Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Section, and Analytical Writing.
Not only does this guide give the information that is in the GRE it also gives you ways to study and what to do a week, the night before, and the aftermath of the test. Even if the scores are bad, it helps you with a new approach to taking the test. I have been working on taking my GRE and this guide has helped me realize what the test entailed. I recommend this guide to any person wishing to take the GRE for future schooling.

Typos and Mistakes

I checked out this book from the library to help prepare for the GRE. I noticed a lot of typos in the text of the book. Also, the practice questions provided do not give explainations for the answers. Some of the answers that are marked as correct are WRONG! Do not buy this book. I would not even recommend checking it out from the library to prepare for the GRE.
