Lives up to $2 expectations

I'll keep reading, but characters/setting are marginally developed. Christian proselytizing seems to be an unsubtle undercurrent. Book does get more engaging (relatively) as it progresses.

Petered out after a great start......

The first two installments really grabbed me. Story was imaginative, surprising; the characters seemed morally ambiguous and interesting. Less so as the story continued. By the end the story was predictable and the characters seemed one dimensional. It almost felt like there was a rush to wrap everything up in a simple resolution. Too bad.....

Awesome New Series

I have to start by saying that I'm very picky when it comes to reading. And usually Sci-Fi stories are not books I usually read. But after getting the chance to read the first part of this book. I have to say it may become one of my favorites.
The book caught my attention from the very beginning. The main character Matthew Wallace has been through so much in his life. He has suffered through loss and in his adult life is trying to fight for his wife's illness and find her help to keep her alive. While all the while trying to keep peace with the humans and the warriors of the planet Altair.
There are so many things I could say about this book, but I don't think there's enough space to write it. I can't wait for the rest of this series!!!!!
